Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa) is an overseas campus of the College of Engineering of Carnegie Mellon University, located in Kigali Innovation City in Kigali, Rwanda. Established in 2011 through an agreement between the university and the government of Rwanda, it was created to address the shortage of engineers in the region. It stands as the only U.S. research university offering its master's degrees with full-time faculty, staff, and operations based in Africa.
