Nelson Mandela University (NMU), located in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), South Africa, is a public comprehensive university established in 2005 through the merger of the University of Port Elizabeth, Port Elizabeth Technikon, and Vista University’s Port Elizabeth campus. The university is the largest higher education institution in the Eastern and Southern Cape, serving approximately 27,000–28,000 students across seven campuses—six in Gqeberha and one in George. NMU offers over 130 fields of study at diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, including law, engineering, health sciences, business, and marine sciences.
