The Pan-African School for Emerging Astronomers (PASEA), formerly known as the West African International Summer School for Young Astronomers (WAISSYA), is a biennial short course held across Africa designed for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and high school teachers interested in astronomy and space science. Organized by an African-led international collaboration under the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development, the program aims to build a critical mass of astronomers in Africa and facilitate the exchange of educational ideas between Africa and the rest of the world.
