Overview
The University of South Africa (UNISA) is the largest open distance learning institution in Africa and one of the world's largest "mega universities" by student enrollment. Established in 1873 as the University of the Cape of Good Hope, it was renamed UNISA in 1916 and is now headquartered in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. It is the only higher education institution in South Africa to carry the name of the country. UNISA offers a comprehensive range of academic programs through its eight colleges: College of Accounting Sciences College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences College of Economic and Management Sciences College of Education College of Graduate Studies College of Human Sciences College of Law College of Science, Engineering and Technology.
