Development in Africa With Radio Astronomy (DARA)

The Development in Africa with Radio Astronomy (DARA) is a joint UK-South Africa Newton Fund initiative launched in 2015 to drive economic development in Africa by training a new generation of high-tech professionals in radio astronomy and related STEM fields. Led by the University of Leeds and the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO), the project operates in eight African partner countries: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zambia, which are also partners in hosting the Square Kilometre Array (SKA).
