Overview
Digital Earth South Africa (DESA) is an innovative service of the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), developed in collaboration with the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO). Launched in a beta version on 28 October 2022, DESA transforms over 30 years of archived Earth observation satellite imagery—covering South Africa, SADC countries, and other African nations—into Analysis Ready Data (ARD), enabling immediate, standardized analysis.
