Overview

The Rhodes University Astronomy Society, known as AstroSoc, is a student-run organization that meets every Tuesday during university terms at 19:30 in the Department of Physics and Electronics. Following the lecture, members typically move to the Simon Walsh Observatory for stargazing sessions using a 10-inch telescope, subject to weather conditions. The society is described as a fun, non-academic group devoted to teaching people about the stars and wider universe.
