Overview

Rocketry SA is the official voice and controlling body for all aspects of non-commercial and non-governmental rocketry in South Africa. Established in 2003 as the South African Amateur Space Association (SAASA), the organization was officially renamed "Rocketry SA" in 2017 to comply with legal requirements for non-profit registration. It promotes model rocketry, high-power rocketry, amateur rocketry, and aerospace modeling while maintaining a database of registered rocketeers and their certification levels. The organization operates as a member-based non-profit with a CEO and an Executive Committee (EXCO), co-existing under the government-mandated South African National Space Agency (SANSA).
