Overview

The primary objective of Djibouti-1B is to maintain the HydroSat data relay network. This is critical for Djibouti, where 90% of the land is desert and water management is a matter of national security. Djibouti-1B provides a secondary orbital platform to enhance the frequency and volume of data collected for the national Hydrosat mission. The CubeSat facilitates the real-time transmission of environmental metrics from remote sensing stations. Its successful deployment in December 2024 strengthens the country's capacity to monitor water resources and manage the domestic impacts of climate change through continuous technological innovation.
