Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory (HartRAO)
Overview
The Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory (HartRAO) is Africa’s premier facility for radio astronomy and space geodesy. While it shares a location with the SANSA Space Operations ground station, HartRAO is a separate scientific research facility. It was part of NASA's Deep Space Station of 1961 given over to the SA government in 1975 and now used for radio astronomy research.
