Université Omar Bongo

Omar Bongo University (UOB) is the largest and oldest public university in Gabon. Located in the capital city of Libreville, it was founded in 1970 as the National University of Gabon and renamed in 1978 to honor President Omar Bongo. The institution serves approximately 34,000 students with around 500 academic staff, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education.
