Moi University is a public university in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County, Kenya, established in 1984 by an Act of Parliament. It was the second public university founded in Kenya, following recommendations from the Presidential Working Party chaired by Prof. Collins B. Mackay. The university was founded by former Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi, who envisioned a rural-based institution to promote equitable access to higher education. The university emphasizes science, technology, and health sciences.
