The Félix Houphouët-Boigny University (UFHB), located in Cocody, Abidjan, Ivory Coast, is the largest public university in the country. Initially created on July 31, 1959 under the name Centre d'Enseignement Supérieur d'Abidjan, it was formalized as the University of Abidjan on January 9, 1964. It was previously known as d’Cocody University. In 1996, it became an autonomous institution, then was renamed Félix Houphouët-Boigny University by decree on October 10, 2012 in tribute to the first president of Côte d'Ivoire.
