University of Jos

The University of Jos (Unijos) is a federal public university located in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. Established in 1975, it originated as a satellite campus of the University of Ibadan in 1971 and became an independent institution under the military government of General Murtala Mohammed. It is known for its motto: "Discipline and Dedication". The university has a large multi-site campus spanning 5,800 acres (2,300 hectares) and serves over 52,000 students, making it one of Nigeria’s largest universities. It is recognized for academic excellence, research, and a vibrant campus life.
