Egypt
Egypt's space sector doesn't have a single dominant area yet.
Recorded activity for Egypt is still early-stage, spread thinly across academic capacity, commercial activity, and orbital activity. Compared with North African countries captured on Spacehubs Africa tracked on the platform, it ranks 1 of 8 by recorded activity. (3 of 55 continent-wide.)

Overview
Egypt hosts one of Africa's most institutionally mature space programmes. The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), established by Law No. 3 of 2018 and succeeding the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS, founded 1973), operates under a ten-year National Space Programme running from 2020 to 2030 aligned with Egypt's Sustainable Development Strategy. Egypt has orbited more than thirteen satellites since EgyptSat-1 in 2007. The National Space Programme prioritises capacity building, domestic industrial localisation, and mission development. EgSA launched an Egyptian Space Academy to train specialist engineers and scientists. Egypt leads the East Africa Development Satellite initiative and is engaged in the UNOOSA Airbus Bartolomeo programme. TIBA-1, a Ka-band telecommunications satellite launched in 2019, supports national connectivity infrastructure.
